What to expect on the day and how to prepare for your exam

  • Performances must be complete. If you stop at any point during Song 3, you will need to start again and perform Songs 1, 2 and 3 from the beginning. 

  • We recommend doing no more than two takes. If you need more than two attempts, it is probably an indication that you are not quite ready to sit the exam. If an examiner is present in the room, you will only get one take, so it is important to be fully prepared.

  • Once filming is complete, we will upload your performance along with any forms required to complete the submission process.

  • Trinity advise allowing up to 8 weeks for your result to arrive. In our experience, however, this is only on rare occasions, with the average result taking around 2–3 weeks.

  • Your results will be emailed directly to you.

  • Trinity issue a digital certificate. You also have the option to purchase a paper certificate directly from Trinity. We cannot purchase this on your behalf. The option to order one together with the instructions on how to do so will be provided when you receive your results via email.

Exam Booking Process

  1. Select the grade
    Choose the Trinity Rock & Pop grade you would like to sit.

  2. Select an appointment
    Choose an available date and time for your recording session.

  3. Complete the candidate information
    Enter the required details for the person sitting the exam.

  4. Enter your song choices
    Let us know your chosen songs, in your preferred order.

  5. Complete payment
    Complete the payment to confirm your booking.

  6. You’re booked!
    Your exam recording appointment is now confirmed. We’ll have everything ready for you when you arrive.
